PostSubject: robbed by the neibor kids   Mon Dec 01, 2014 5:15 am

so this week from Wednesday till Saturday my family and I went to my gramas and when we got home one of our cats was outside which was strange because I made sure all my cats were in so we looked around the house and saw the panel to underneath our house had been move and so we checked the  area that led inside the house and the panel had been flipped around  and then we noticed a few of our things were missing well it had snowed so we followed the tracks to our neibors and told there parents what happened and they were very cooperative and turns out 2 of them (from different houses both about 10 years old) had gone thru our crawl space up into the house and took stuff they thought we wouldn't notice (and some of it we didn't until they admitted it) and about a bit more then half of it was mine and they had sold some of it well we got our stuff back and the stuff they sold (though there still looking for some of it) we decided not to press charges against them so they won't be going to jail but they will be doing what ever we ask them for a long time example shoveling snow cleaning the yard excetra excetra

so ya all that happened so stressful

Edit: they were 12 not 10

I suppose it was a gesture of good will to the co-operative parents by not pressing charges, Leo. Although tbh, especially if they had been any older, I might have anyway. They're old enough to know right and wrong and that is absolutely shocking behaviour. I'm glad you got your stuff back, Thal, it was a stroke of luck that it snowed and they were that stupid.

We had a similar experience this summer while in France. On our way back, we stopped at the War Museum the day before our ferry home. It was a Saturday afternoon, we were there for a decent amount of hours and it was a great and interesting time. Came out that evening and my stepbros had ran ahead like they do - ran back, informed us that the bikes had been nicked off the bike rack, which we had two locks on. Turned out other cars had been robbed of bikes and roofboxes, and people with caravans/caravettes had even had entire wheels taken off them. An organised group had come to the touristy place (obv people from all over the world visit in the thousands, esp on a weekend) and just done a clean sweep of the car park. We didn't get our bikes back but we did get enough from insurance to get decent replacements quite quickly, so it worked out, but as I'm sure Thal can attest to that being victim to a robbery of any kind is really upsetting and shakes your feelings of security.

We knew the kids for a couple years and that's the only reason we did not press charges and I forgot the put this up there the stuff they had sold was mine and it was pretty expensive one of the things they tried to sell was my fisher fur which they tried to sell to the guy (he lives down the street) for 275 dollars and the only reason the guy didn't buy it was because he didn't have enough money with him.

and yeah it was pretty stupid of them to try when there was snow plus they let one of my cats out which was another hint (and if my cat had disappeared I would have pressed charges no doubt about it) though they were lucky that when they were under the house they didn't accidently pull one of the wire down they could have electrocuted themselves and died. They were also lucky that our dogs weren't there because even though there nice dogs they would have barked a lot and one of our dogs could have possibly bit them

so yeah they were rally stupid and kind of lucky

(alright first off sorry for double posting but thought I'd give you an update)

so I think we have most of our stuff back though I think there are still a few things missing. I also think one of there sisters knew about them breaking in and asked them to grab something my mom showed her because it's currently missing and this may not be related but the same day hey broke in our credit card numbers were stolen and like 1000 to 2000 dollars (can't remember which) were charged to it on for downloaded video games. so our credit card company canceled the payment and there seeing if they can trace it to where the payment came from and if it's tracked to one of the kids we will be pressing charges this time.

so yeah we just found out the credit card thing (at at least my parents just told me about it) so that's upsetting kinda hoping it didn't come from one of the kids because I don't want to send one of them to jail and I really just want to be done with the whole thing.

That's absolutely ridiculous! I hope the trace is made and that the culprits are found. That's something you have no choice to press charges over, I think. I hope your ordeal is over soon, though.
